The problem with traditional cleaning cloth

Traditional, untreated cleaning cloths absorb, collect and transfer germs from surface to surface causing crossing contamination.

BRProtect Microfibre Cloth Roll

Why BRProtect™ Microfibre?

Traps 7x more dirt

Making surface cleaning much more efficient

Kills 99% of bacteria

Captures 99% germs from the surfaces with just water

Can be washed more than 500 times

Can be laundered 500+ times without losing its antimicrobial properties

BRProtect™ is a Non-Leaching Antimicrobial

Not all antimicrobial are created equal. Competitors treat their cloths with toxic chemicals to kill germs, but these leaching compounds are poisonous to the environment and humans.

A totally different method

BRProtect™ Microfibre Cloths are treated with a residual antimicrobial coating that continuously kills germs keeping your cloths hygienic and smelling fresh. Our microfibre cloths allow you to adopt a truly chemical-free cleaning routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are microfibre cloths better than traditionally woven cloths? FAQ
  • Microfibre cloths are undisputedly a better choice and they are a quantum leap in efficacy from cotton or linen cloths used with hot water and detergents for many reasons! The latest generation of microfibre cloths are more efficient at removing dirt, therefore they are more hygienic, they also require less water, less detergents, less sanitisers and disinfectants and so are also much eco-friendlier and more economical in use.

  • What makes a microfibre cloth different? FAQ
  • A ‘microfibre’ cleaning cloth is fabricated from fabric that is comprised of fibres so tiny that they cannot be seen with normal unaided vision as a microscope is required to discern their structure and form.

  • How are microfibre cloths made? FAQ
  • The majority of microfibre cleaning cloths are manufactured from a hybrid blend of nylon and polyester usually in equal 50:50 proportions. This polymer blend is then extruded at high temperature and pressure into very a small diameter monofilament yarn. This yarn is then utilised to weave the basic fabric of the cloth. However, a further step in the manufacturing process then causes these monofilaments to split into many, many more component fibres, often 30 times less in diameter than the parent monofilament.

  • Are all microfibre cloths of equal quality, or are some better than others? FAQ
  • There is a wide range of different quality microfibre cloths available on the market and that quality is determined by how tiny the diameter of the fibre is, with the smallest diameter fibres being the highest level of quality.

  • What size are the fibres in a microfibre cloth? FAQ
  • If a cloth were to be manufactured with fibres 100 times smaller than a human hair, it would only be rated as an average quality microfibre cloth. In medium quality cloths, the fibres will be between 3 to 5 microns in diameter. The highest quality microfibre cleaning cloths contain fibres 200 times thinner than a human hair and measure only 0.3 microns in diameter.

  • Why are microfibre cloths actually more effective and hygienic than traditional cloths? FAQ
  • The cleaning efficacy of a cloth, whether a microfibre cloth or a conventional cloth, is determined by its fibre size, with the smallest diameter fibres providing the highest levels of efficiency. This is because a cloth cannot effectively capture and remove particles of debris that are smaller than themselves. Therefore, traditional cloths fabricated from macroscopic fibres cannot trap microscopic particles of dirt. Microfibre cleaning cloths are constructed from microscopic fibres and can therefore capture and remove microscopic particles.

  • How do microfibre cleaning cloths capture microscopic particles so efficiently? FAQ
  • Microfibre cleaning cloths are comprised of millions of microscopic plastic fibres. These plastic fibres each possess a small electrostatic charge. Even though the charge in each fibre is incredibly small, because the cloth contains millions of them, the overall ability to attract and trap microscopic particles is amplified.

  • Can a microfibre cleaning cloth capture viral particles and bacteria within their fibres? FAQ
  • As indicated above, the ability of any cloth to trap microscopic particulate matter is determined by the diameter of its component fibres. Therefore, the highest quality microfibre cloths which will have fibre diameters below 0.3 microns will be capable of electrostatically attracting and trapping most bacteria and some of the larger viral particles.

  • Is BR Protect Microfiber cloth Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly? FAQ
  • BRProtect Cloths are not just cloths! They are high quality microfibre cloths that have been impregnated with a long-lasting non leaching organo-silane disinfectant which endows the material with enduring antimicrobial properties. This means the cloth only requires frequent rinsing to remain completely free from microbes thereby reducing both electricity and water consumption arising from the frequent launderings that would otherwise be necessary to maintain the cloth in a clean and hygienic condition.

  • Does BR Protect Microfiber Inhibits Mould Growth FAQ
  • BRProtect removes the problem of moulds and fungi proliferating on treated Microfibers, thus providing them with long term protection against staining and odours associated with mould and mildew proliferation.
